Stephen Schneider and Rebecca Ireland from Blake Morgan LLP, a large national law firm, will be giving BWCA Members an insight into use of social media within their businesses at their General Meeting on 24th September.
Corporate use of social media is rapidly on the increase. potential positives and pitfalls of social media in the workplace including protecting confidential information, managing employees’ behaviour both inside and outside the workplace and issues arising on recruitment and termination will be looked at, touching briefly on issues of defamation and advertising law.
Being aware of these issues can help shape policies, procedures and contracts of employment, and help employers to take steps to minimise risks to their business that can arise from misuse of confidential information and networking sites.
